Make healthy eating feel doable.

Dara is exploring culinary medicine and nutrition workshops that pair clear health education with a live cooking experience. The idea is simple: help people make food they already love work better for everyday life.

Hands preparing vegetables in a sunlit kitchen

Real food. Useful skills. A more confident way to cook.

A different kind of wellness session

Teach the why. Show the how.

The proposed format brings together a registered dietitian and a physician trained in culinary medicine. Medical and nutrition education meet a live demonstration that shows how to put those ideas into practice.

Sessions start with familiar dishes and explore small changes: building flavor with herbs and citrus, choosing different cooking fats, adding fiber, or adjusting a sauce or protein. The focus stays on satisfying food and realistic choices.

Collaborators, final topics, and availability will be confirmed with each organization before a session is offered.

The experience

From an everyday meal to an idea you can use.

01

Start with a familiar meal

Use food people already know and enjoy as the starting point, rather than a list of rules or restrictions.

02

Understand the choices

Connect ingredients and cooking methods to nutrition goals in clear, useful language.

03

See it come together

Watch a live cooking demonstration and leave with practical ideas to try in your own kitchen.

Possible themes

Built around your people.

These are starting points, not a fixed menu. A session can be shaped around your group’s interests and the format that works for your organization.

  • Heart-healthy cooking
  • Lower-sodium favorites
  • More fiber in everyday meals
  • Healthy comfort foods
  • Mediterranean-style cooking
  • Quick meals for busy days
